News Welcomed

In order to make a community newspaper work, we need contributors to the cause. Ideally we would like to establish connections with every town, school, civic organization, church, club and neighborhood in our area. With a network of key folks the good news can be shared and spread around. If you are a member of a church, club, governmental body with a message to get out or an upcoming event, you are invited to designate a person to be an embedded reporter and submit your news or advertising to us routinely. Special rates apply to non-profit organizations for this service.

If you are from here and moved away, I'll bet the folks back home would enjoy news about alumni and former residents. Feel free to send a letter to the editor.

Particpate anyway you feel comfortable.

And as always, we are looking for suggestions.

ACCHS Alumni

• Dear ACCHS Alumni,
  The 2009 ACCHS Alumni Banquet was held June 6th, 2009 in the ACCHS Gym. Approximately 240 were in attendance. We thank everyone that came and planned their reunions around the banquet time. We wish to encourage those of you that plan future reunions to meet at this time every year. It is a very convenient location. Rooms are available for the asking and you also get the opportunity to meet folks of other classes as they meet in the high school. The hallways are as crowded as the rooms.
  The next banquet will be held Saturday, June 5th, 2010 at ACCHS. There will be a fellowship hour starting at 5:30 with the banquet following at 6:30. We will have a dinner as usual and unless otherwise notified the Tickets are $7.50. Tickets may be purchased at the Farmers and Merchants ENB branch in Effingham, United Bank of Kansas, Lancaster, and Hegarty-Caplinger Insurance office in Atchison from mid April till a week before the event. It is helpful to know in advance how many are coming so the food can be ordered in sufficient quantities.
  If you would like to reserve a room at the high school for your class reunion prior to the banquet, please contact #377 District offices at 913-833-5050. If you would like to have a table reserved for your class at the banquet, please contact one of the officers below or email alumni@thenewsleaf.com.
